What Rogue Core is
Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core is a 1–4 player co-op FPS roguelite from Ghost Ship Games and Coffee Stain Publishing. Early Access launches on Steam on May 20, 2026 and is expected to run for 18–24 months.
Runs start after The Grayout disables most technology on contact. Reclaimer dwarves enter dark mining facilities with minimal gear, then scrounge weapons, equipment, and upgrades during the run.
First priorities in a run
- Treat your starting kit as temporary. Weapons and most equipment are shared across classes.
- Use your class primarily for its signature Gauntlet identity.
- Mine Expenite whenever the route allows it.
- Feed Expenite into Ellis, the flying MULE, at convening points to unlock team upgrades.
- Consider risk-vector choices carefully: higher-risk paths can yield weapon crates, equipment crates, or artifact upgrades.
Classes at launch
The five confirmed classes are Slicer, Falconer, Guardian, Spotter, and Gorgon. Slicer brings melee burst through the Supernova Blade Gauntlet. Falconer uses the Buzzard drone. Guardian brings the Stonewall Repulsor Gauntlet. Spotter uses the S.P.O.T.T.E.R. dart pistol. Gorgon's exact gauntlet name is still TBA.
Upgrade sources
Expenite is the main run upgrade resource, but it is not the only enhancement path. Bio booster stations and Workbench stations are separate non-Expenite upgrade sources.
One observed alpha upgrade is Reloading Trick, which grants 100% crit chance on the first shot after a reload.
Co-op habits that matter
Rogue Core keeps the co-op-first spirit of Deep Rock Galactic. Laser-pointer callouts, traversal support, teammate weapon synergies, and the Rock and Stone interaction all remain part of the expected team rhythm.
