Rogue Core artifacts
Artifacts are rare power upgrades found exclusively on high-risk Route branches in Rogue Core. Unlike standard Expenite upgrades that modify existing weapon stats, artifacts grant entirely new passive effects or active bonuses that persist for the duration of a run. Because they only appear on high-risk route paths, collecting artifacts requires deliberately accepting greater enemy density and reduced safety margins — a calculated trade-off that defines late-run power scaling.
Each dive can yield a small number of artifact slots. Artifacts interact with your Expenite upgrades and Gauntlet abilities, meaning the same artifact can produce different results depending on your class and build path. Players optimizing for Gauntlet-focused builds generally prioritize artifacts that amplify ability uptime, while weapon-focused Reclaimers look for damage-multiplier artifacts that stack with existing upgrade chains. For route planning, treat artifacts as a late-run commitment rather than a guaranteed pickup: if the team is low on ammo, health, or crowd-control tools, a safer branch can be worth more than forcing an artifact node. When the squad already has stable wave clear and enough Expenite momentum, artifact routes become one of the best ways to convert risk into run-winning scaling.
