Core Spawn enemies
Core Spawn are the primary enemy faction in Rogue Core, distinct from the Glyphids of the original Deep Rock Galactic. They emerge from The Grayout — an event that disables most technology in the underground mining facilities — and are documented as more aggressive, resilient, and tactically intelligent than standard Glyphid swarms. Core Spawn appear to operate with coordinated threat escalation, meaning encounter difficulty scales not just with enemy count but with enemy behavior adaptation across a run.
Understanding Core Spawn threat levels and attack ranges is critical for run planning, especially when choosing between safe and high-risk route paths. High-threat Core Spawn variants appear more frequently on risk-vector branches, making enemy knowledge directly relevant to Expenite farming efficiency and artifact acquisition decisions. In practical terms, players should read enemy pressure as a routing signal: if ranged pressure, flankers, or armored targets are already stretching the team, the next upgrade choice should solve survivability before greedier damage scaling. Co-op groups can also assign target priorities so burst classes remove dangerous variants while support or control builds keep the main wave from collapsing the formation.
